Make sure to brush your pets regularly to reduce dander, as well as keep all nails and claws trimmed to prevent snags. We also recommend using felt protectors under heavy furniture legs and rearranging furniture periodically to help carpet wear more evenly. By taking these measures, you are caring for your carpet on a daily basis!
DIRT & DEBRIS
In addition to restoring a clean, fresh appearance for your carpet, removing dirt and debris effectively will also reduce abrasion and wear. It’s important to invest in a vacuum model that best suits your carpet type, and always check your carpet manufacturer’s warranty before investing in a robot vacuum cleaner. Vacuum your carpet weekly or as frequently as possible to remove abrasive particles and keep the carpet pile feeling luxurious. Completing this key step in common and high-traffic areas is the number one way to preserve the appearance of your carpet and reduce the effects of daily household activity.
SPILLS & STAINS
Unfortunately, spills can happen without warning in an active home and permanent stains can form if not treated properly. As soon as you discover the spill, gently lift any solid food or material from the spot on the carpet with a utensil. Then, take a dry, white cloth and use warm water to gently blot the stain from the outside in, until you reach the center. For stains that don’t clean up with warm water, use a gentle carpet cleaner to treat the stain and use only as much cleaner as needed. If a stain is still present after treatment and the carpet is dry, we recommend a professional cleaning to remove the stain entirely.
